Recipe For Healing
Logline: "Recipe for Healing" is a black and queer centered romantic short film about two individuals that are grieving the end of their past marriages for various reasons, and with the right nudge, they learn the ingredients needed to love again.

After losing the love of her life to cancer, Niko's best friend plays matchmaker and sets her up with Brooklyn, a fresh divorcee. Through the power of cooking and conversation, they both learn the ingredients to healing one another's hearts and finding true love again.

DIRECTOR

Chealsy is fascinated with the human experience and how people respond to challenging moments that arise. She recently finished directing and writing a four-part limited series, which is now completed and will be on the festival circuit soon. Her gift is to support others on the journey of Unpacking Daily. She grounds nuanced ideas that some people may have difficulty understanding and reimages the world in her work so that others can enter the flow.

Alexus is an up-and-coming producer. She holds an MFA in Film and Television from Regent University, with a focus on producing. Her thesis film, "Petting Zoo," about micro-aggressions and race-based hair-discrimination in the office space, is currently being well received in the film festival circuit. Alexus also works in broadcast journalism.

Ayiesha Nichelle is a writing phenom with a career spanning over 15 years, starting with Kensington Publishing. She's authored over two dozen books with ghost-written works for acclaimed celebrities.
